NASA launches new tracking and communication satellite

NASA is set to launch its 11th TDRS (Tracking and Data Relay Satellite) satellite this Wednesday night from Cape Canaveral. At an estimated $350-400 million, it will be used to relay communications to the International Space Station and images from the Hubble Space Telescope. The first generation satellite of this kind was launched in 1983 and the second was lost in the Challenger crash.
